Flowers have their week. A plant stays on, on a windowsill or a desk, long after the card has been put away.
We choose each plant in the shop on the day it goes out, wrap it in compostable brown paper and write your message by hand on a card. It travels in its plastic nursery pot, ready for a pot of their own choosing.
Plant Gifts from Our Dublin Shops
Our plant gift box: houseplants or cacti, chosen by us from what is looking well that week, €40 or €60.
A tall phalaenopsis orchid in a terracotta pot, for anyone who would rather have flowers but would like them to stay.
Any of our house plants, from a small fern for a bedside table to a bird of paradise for a big bright room.
Plant Gift Delivery in Dublin
In Dublin, our own drivers deliver plant gifts Monday to Saturday, the same day if you order before 11am. We don't deliver on Sundays or bank holidays.
Outside Dublin, plants go with DPD, Tuesday to Friday. Order before 11am the day before; most arrive the next working day, though now and then DPD can take two or three. The €40 Box of Plants and our smaller plants can travel. The orchid, the €60 Box of Plants and our larger plants stay in Dublin. If a plant can't go to your address, checkout tells you before you pay.
Sending Plants as Gifts to Ireland from Abroad
If you are in London, Boston or Sydney and someone at home is having a birthday, you can order here just as you would from Dublin. Prices are in euro, our cut-offs run on Irish time, and international cards are fine.
Tell us at checkout what you'd like to say. We write it on the card ourselves, so it arrives in a person's handwriting rather than a printed slip.
Housewarming Plant Gifts
A new home is usually short of two things: furniture, and something alive. Any of our plants will see to the second. If you don't know the rooms yet, a Box of Plants lets them decide where each one goes. If you do, one good plant for the brightest window says more than several.
Corporate Plant Gifts
We send plants to businesses all through the year, not only at Christmas: a thank you to a client, a welcome for a new team, something green for every desk. Most often it is our Box of Plants, but it can be any plant here, to one address or to many.
Send us a note with how many, roughly what you would like to spend, where they are going and when, and we will put a proposal together. We invoice companies directly.
The Best Plants to Give as a Gift
Honestly, any plant we sell; we wouldn't keep it on the shelf otherwise. What matters more is who it is for and where it is going.
If you aren't sure, a Box of Plants: a few plants chosen by us, so they can find their own favourite. For someone who would rather have flowers, the orchid, which keeps flowering long after a bouquet would have gone. For someone outside Dublin, the €40 Box of Plants, which goes anywhere in Ireland. And for a big, bright room in Dublin, one statement plant, like a bird of paradise.
If they are new to plants, a little feed or a small watering can from our plant care products goes well alongside.
