The ZZ plant, Zamioculcas zamiifolia, is one of the toughest houseplants we sell: upright stems of glossy, dark green leaves, and it needs very little looking after. We deliver it in Dublin with our own drivers and across Ireland by DPD.
It is native to East Africa and grows from thick stems under the soil that hold water, which is why it copes if you forget to water it for a while. It is happy in indirect light or shade, so it suits a hall or a corner away from the window. Water it every week to ten days, less in winter, and keep it above 10 degrees. It likes a snug pot, free-draining soil and a houseplant feed once a month.
It comes in a plastic nursery pot, without the terracotta pot in the photograph; you can choose an outer pot from our plant pots.
Delivery
In Dublin, our own drivers deliver Monday to Saturday, the same day if you order before 11am. We don't deliver on Sundays or bank holidays.
Across the rest of Ireland, it goes with DPD, Tuesday to Friday. Order before 11am the day before; most arrive the next working day; when DPD is busy, it can take two to three working days. Any size marked “Dublin Only” stays with our own drivers, and checkout tells you if a plant can't go to your address.
