Christmas Collection

The evenings are drawing in, and the studio is slowly turning towards Christmas. The first of our Christmas flowers are here now: winter bouquets and wreaths of Irish-grown foliage, made by hand in our Dublin shops. The full Christmas collection arrives at the end of October, when the fir, pine and berries come in and the benches fill up with them.

We deliver Christmas flowers across Dublin with our own drivers and nationwide with DPD.

Christmas here is made from what the season gives us: fir and pine, birch and heather, and the berries that hold on into the cold.

Christmas Flowers from Our Dublin Shops

Our Christmas bouquets are hand-tied, loose and full of foliage, in deep reds, whites and winter greens. We would rather a bouquet looked gathered on a walk than arranged for a shop window.

Each one is made to order in our shops at Powerscourt Townhouse and Mill Street. If you are not sure what to choose, the Florist's Choice leaves it to us, and we will use whatever is best in the studio that day.

Christmas houses run warm, so give your flowers a cool spot away from the radiator and the fire, recut the stems and top up the water every couple of days. You can see our full range of bouquets here.

02 · Wreaths

Christmas Wreaths

We make our Christmas wreaths by hand, from mostly Irish-grown foliage such as fir, pine, heather, eucalyptus, birch and berries, and we never use floral foam.

A fresh wreath likes the cold. Hung outside on a front door, it keeps far longer than it would above a fireplace.

A few favourites are here. You will find the full range on our Christmas wreaths page.

03 · For the table

Christmas Garlands and Table Centrepieces

A Christmas garland changes a room more than almost anything else, whether it runs along a mantelpiece, winds down a banister or lies the length of the Christmas table. Ours are made from pine, noble fir, eucalyptus, twigs and berries, finished with dried fruit and pine cones: full and a little untidy, the way foliage grows.

Our table pot arrangements are Christmas centrepieces kept low, so you can still see the person across from you. Each one is built in a pot with moss, rosehips, dried fruit and seasonal foliage, for the long dinners between Christmas and New Year, when nobody is in a hurry to clear the plates.

Candles, Chocolate, Books and Cards

Beside the flowers, a few things we like to give at Christmas: candles, chocolate, books and note cards. They travel well with a bouquet or on their own, for the host, the neighbour, or the person who says they don't want anything this year. There are more in our scented candles collection.

05 · Made to order

Custom Christmas Wreaths, Garlands and Arrangements

Some of the Christmas work we enjoy most is made for one place only. A wreath for a Georgian door twice the usual height. A garland wound down a staircase, or hung heavy over a shopfront. A long table dressed for twenty, with greenery running the whole length of it.

Our studio has spent years making flowers for brand launches, retail displays, film sets and weddings, and at Christmas we bring the same care to homes and businesses around Dublin. Tell us about the space and we will work out the rest with you.

What we can make

  • Wreaths in larger or unusual sizes, for big doors, gates and hallways
  • Garlands for mantelpieces, staircases, doorways and shopfronts
  • Table centrepieces and long garlands for Christmas dinners and parties
  • Christmas flowers and greenery for offices, restaurants, hotels and shop windows
  • Matching wreaths or bouquets in quantity, as gifts for clients or staff

How to ask

  1. Email us at shop@thegarden.ie or call +353 86 034 9178.
  2. Tell us where it is going, rough sizes, the date you need it and a budget if you have one. A photo of the door, stairs or room helps more than anything.
  3. We will come back to you with ideas and a price, and arrange delivery.

December fills up quickly in the studio, so the earlier you get in touch the better. For larger pieces, please give us at least a week's notice.
