Christmas Gifts
By December the shelves are full of things we would happily keep for ourselves: scented candles, a good pair of shears, a copper watering can, a pot waiting for something green.
This is only the start of it. More of our Christmas gifts are on their way to the shops, and we will add them here as they arrive over the coming weeks.
Christmas Gift Ideas from Our Dublin Shops
We choose our gifts the way we choose flowers: a few good things rather than a lot of them. This is how we would put them together.
A vase for all the flowers they will be handed at the door, dinner candles and candle holders for the table, and a few votive holders to light before anyone sits down.
Niwaki flower shears, a Haws watering can, The Garden Almanac 2027 Book, and Sowvital's hand cream for the end of a cold day outside.
A Box of Plants for a desk or windowsill through the darkest weeks, a few cacti in terracotta, ceramic pots and Sowvital's mister to keep the air around them soft.
Scented candles from Astier de Villatte, Sowvital and P.F. Candle Co., and Astier's incense for the quiet days after Christmas.
The Kew Gardener's Guide to Growing House Plants, The Complete Language of Flowers, or The Gathered Table for the one who does the cooking.
A digital gift voucher, from €50 to €500, to spend online or in either of our Dublin shops.

Christmas Gifts for Gardeners
Most gardeners already have everything they need, so the trick is to give them a better version of something they use every day. Niwaki's Sakagen shears are made in Japan for cutting flowers and soft stems. A Haws watering can is the kind of thing you keep for years.
For the winter months, when the garden is mostly waiting, there is the almanac to plan the year by, Sybotanica's soils for spring potting, and a Sowvital cap and hand cream for the days when they go out anyway. Pair them with a pot from our pot collection, and they have something to plant in come March.

Plant Gifts for Christmas
A plant is a gift that keeps asking for a little attention, which is most of the pleasure of it. Our Box of Plants is a few easy-going houseplants chosen in the shop, happy on a windowsill in December and still growing by summer. For a first plant, a cactus in terracotta asks for almost nothing.
Add a book to go with it, The Kew Gardener's Guide to Growing House Plants or the almanac, and the mister, for dry air from the radiators. You will find more in our indoor plants.

Christmas Gifts with Fresh Flowers
Choose a bouquet from our Christmas flowers, add it to the same basket, and we deliver them together.
Dinner candles with a hand-tied bouquet for the host. A Sowvital candle and winter flowers for your mother. Shears and a bunch of something wild for the gardener.

Sending Christmas Gifts to Ireland from Abroad
Many of our Christmas orders are placed from abroad, by people sending something home to family in Ireland. We accept international cards. Write your message at checkout: we handwrite it on a card, and every gift is wrapped in compostable brown paper.
Our cut-offs are in Irish time, 11am in Dublin. We deliver across Dublin the same day and to the rest of Ireland with DPD, Tuesday to Friday. Most nationwide orders arrive the next working day, though now and then DPD can take two or three. Bouquets, smaller plants and gifts go anywhere in the country. Large plants and large pots stay in Dublin.
Corporate Christmas Gifts for Clients and Staff
Every December we put together gifts in quantity for businesses around Dublin. Most often it is our Box of Plants, something that stays on a desk long after the Christmas cards come down, but it can be any gift here, sent to one office or to many addresses.
Email us the number of gifts, a budget, the addresses and the date, and we will come back with a plan and a price. Please give us at least two weeks' notice.
